Sam Torrance: The Dunhill Links Championship 2003

One of my most special golfing memories is from the 7th green of the Old Course, St. Andrews.

It was Sunday afternoon of the Dunhill Links in which I was playing with my son, Daniel (the format being teams of one amateur and one Pro).

There was a big scoreboard by the green showing that we were 2 shots clear of the field.

I had a 20 foot putt for birdie which I managed to hole, putting us 3 shots clear.

Since we had started on the 10th tee that day, we only had 2 holes to play, so I knew we were within sight of the trophy. That was huge for me and I couldn’t stop the tears from that point on.

A very special moment, winning such a prestigious golfing event with my son.
